Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city located on the southern part of Java Island, Indonesia. As the only Indonesian royal city still ruled by a monarchy, Yogyakarta is regarded as an important center for classical Javanese fine arts and culture such as the well-known Ramayana ballet, batik textiles, drama, literature, music, poetry, visual arts, and wayang puppetry. Renowned as a center of Indonesian education, Yogyakarta is home to a large student population and dozens of schools and universities, including Universitas Gadjah Mada, the country’s largest institute of higher education and one of its most prestigious.

Climate in Yogyakarta features tropical wet and dry climate. The driest month is August while the wettest month is January. The climate is influenced by the monsoon. The annual temperature is roughly about 26 to 27 Celsius. The hottest month is April with average temperature 27.1 Celsius.
